" I wanted to thank you for the incredible birth experience the midwives at Bay Area Midwifery have given me.  Having had two hospital births with an OB/GYN, I could never go back now that I have experienced birthing at your facility.  The support of the midwives and the relationship I developed with them was invaluable to me.  The care and compassion for my baby and me is unlike anything I have ever experienced.  During this trying time, when my body and mind were put to the greatest test one could imagine, the confidence in me and gentle support from the midwives got me through.  The respect for my birth plan, and for me as a woman, enabled me to believe in my body’s ability to naturally birth my sweet little ones into this world.   The words of encouragement you offered during the most intense moments kept my spirits high.  The tenderness of the midwives toward my new baby was so calming.  To see you handle this sweet new life with such gentleness and awe was touching enough to bring me to tears.  During such an incredible journey, each of you were devoted to the best for both baby and me.  Thank you so much for giving me something I could never have received elsewhere… tenderness, compassion, and respect for my wishes in births that I have the warmest of memories for.

How can I ever begin to thank you for the role that you have played in my life!? From the very beginning I had the up most confidence that my baby and I were 100% safe in your hands. Thank you for helping me to have such a wonderful experience in my baby's labor and birth. I delivered my first son drug-free as well, but in the hospital which felt cold, clinical and antiseptic. But at your center I truly felt like I was at home, and believe that's how it should be for everyone. I admire all of you for your dedication to this wonderful profession of helping mothers and babies get the best possible start together. Everyone one of you listened to and honored my choices, supporting me throughout my pregnancy and birth. Also, a special thanks to Cristin and Dona, whom helped me safely deliver baby Jameson Francisco Welsh (August 26, 2009 @ 5:30am:8lbs, 2oz, 21in). On birth day I headed home gleaming and feeling euphoric and I continue to rave about the center and look forward to seeing you again when it is time for baby #3.
